83rd Annual Catholic Appeal

“I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, a stranger and you took me into your home, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.” (Matthew 25:35-36)

“We answered Christ’s call to love…together” We did it! Thank you to donors from St Pius X who stepped forward and made a gift to ensure the campaign was an overwhelming success. Please stay tuned for a grand total in the weeks ahead. And once again, a heartfelt THANK YOU. May God continue to bless everyone in our parish community.

Mental Health Ministry

Your support funds a much-needed Mental Health Ministry within our diocese. This ministry’s main purpose is spiritual accompaniment: reminding parishioners impacted by mental health issues that they are not alone. The ministry provides education and awareness; creates a welcoming, accepting environment; offers companionship for those affected by mental health issues; supports family members and caregivers; and provides advocacy and referrals for therapy, counseling, or clinical treatment.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.”
-Galatians 6:2

Ministry Moment

Donations to the Catholic Appeal support the Samaritan House in Taunton, a homeless shelter for women and men that is staffed 24 hours a day and offers a wide range of supportive services including assessment, job skills training, budgeting information, and access to mental health, and other needed services. For the guests staying at Samaritan House, gifts to the Appeal make possible the transition from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
